今年も、学びの一環として「生け花」の時間を設けることができました。昨年に引き続き、在園生の保護者の方に講師としてご協力いただき、子どもたちはその知識と経験に触れる貴重な機会を得ました。はじめに、日本語で生け花に用いる道具や大切にされているマナーについて学び、その後、実際に花を生ける活動は英語で進められました。
言語と体験が結びつくことで、より深い理解と学びへとつながりました。

この経験を通して、子どもたちはバランスや形の美しさ、そして心を込めて向き合う姿勢を学びながら、自分なりの表現を楽しみました。子どもたちが生けた花は、今年も卒園式に飾られ、特別な一日を彩るあたたかな存在となりました。

This year, we were once again fortunate to include an Ikebana experience as part of our learning. As in the previous year, a current parent kindly joined us as our instructor, sharing her knowledge and expertise with the children.

The session began in Japanese, where the children were introduced to the significance of Ikebana tools and the etiquette that accompanies this traditional art form. It then transitioned into English as the children engaged in the hands-on practice of arranging flowers, allowing them to connect language with experience in a meaningful way.
Through this experience, the children developed an appreciation for balance, form, and mindfulness, while expressing their own creativity. The flowers they arranged were later displayed at the graduation ceremony, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to this special occasion.
