Kindergarten クラスでは、毎週金曜日にShow＆Tellという時間があります。順番で自分の紹介したいものや知ってほしいことがらを自分なりの方法で発表していきます。それをうけて聞き手側の子どもたちは、たくさんの質問や感想を次々に伝えていきます。
Show & Tellは、幼児期の教育において重要な役割を果たします。特に欧米の教育では盛んに行われており、幼稚園から小学校の最終学
までずっと実践されています。Show＆Tellは、子どもの伝える力やプレゼンテーション能力を高め、自信を持たせ、新たな情熱を抱かせ、親や家族とともに創造的な学びを育むためにとても大切な学びです。
この日は、K4(年中)の女の子が自分のアイディアで作成したどんぐりのカレンダーとリースを紹介してくれました。
興味深々に仕組みをのぞき込み考える友達と嬉しそうに笑顔を向けてくれました。
She shows us a beautiful craft and says, Calender! December. The Teacher asks,  Why is the 8th a different color? My brother’s birthday. 17th? My birthday! Where did you get the acorns? Park, near house. Friend wants to know why there are leaves on it. How did you stick it? I used glue. She also took out a book and showed us the Kunugi acorn. The kind of acorn is here. Box has many kinds. She showed us a box with different acorns in it. She also showed us another craft. This is Christmas wreath. I used yarn and leaves. Did you hang in the house? Yes. Friend comments, it’s so nice. She wants to know why there is a ribbon. It’s Christmas! The teacher asks which part She likes the most. Acorns, She answered. It’s a project you worked with Mom on. It’s a great Show and Tell because you used what you like and made something with it. The most difficult part was
the yarn part of the wreath. But how perfect is this for the holidays and it is special for She and her family with the 2 birthdays.
